Mother Teresa was once quoted as saying, "If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
As many of you know, I am a quote fanatic.
I find them in all sorts of places! Billboards, internet, books I've read, book I want to read, and sometimes even in spray paint on sides of buildings.
What makes specific word formations notable? I guess the answer is different for everyone. The words may jump off the page and slap you in the face; a message of conscience, perhaps. Or say you’re driving along and see a giant billboard with a quote that nearly causes you to wreck the car because the message spoke directly to your heart. Careful!
For me, I suppose I often think of those moments with messages as something divine.
I was to be at the point, at the moment to read those words. Perhaps it’s the Creator communicating with me in a written language. (Many would really disagree, and I’m okay with that.)
From my perspective, I choose to believe that our Creator is always trying to communicate with us. Look at creation itself.
You see nature and all its inhabitants.
You see the colors of the Seasons and you've studied the science of it all.
You recognize that even ants and mosquitoes have purpose! Crazy, I KNOW!
But to me, it is undeniable that everything, absolutely everything, was created with a purpose-- a mission for life.
I believe that words have a mission for life. Once they are spoken or written down, they can serve to encourage, motivate, thought provoke, and even change history. Words, once spoken or written down, can also have a negative power of influence. Words can tear down, humiliate, demean, anger, and suck the life right out of a human soul.
Words possess great power!
Words of love have the ability to give life.
One single life filled with loving words can change lives.
I think I’m really going to try to listen to my words. I desire to speak words of love.
Speak words of love to family, to friends, and even to adversaries.
What a challenge!
